About the project
Celebrated in the press as “the Sunshine Coast’s first real-deal, authentic Vietnamese restaurant”, Nguyen Brothers opened its doors in late 2017. With two popular Sydney restaurants already in their portfolio, the owners have opened a new destination with creative, inspiring food – and a fit-out to match.
Part of a hospitality surge on Queensalnd’s thriving “Sunny Coast”, the open eating space needed to achieve just the right balance of sophisticated simplicity with an inviting and laid-back vibe. A beautiful, creative ceiling in light, natural Hemlock was the perfect ingredient.
The Austratus Difference
The Austratus fin profile made the ceiling a statement piece for Nguyen Brothers – streamlined quality with a warm timber welcome. With contemporary yet timeless looks, the timber ceiling contrasts beautifully with a long turquoise-coloured booth and complements parquetry features and timber tables and stools. With its acoustic absorption benefits, it’s the ideal choice for a noisy eating space, as well as being cost-effective, quick and easy to install – providing real value-for-money for this new player in a highly competitive industry.
The Austratus Fin Profile offers extra depth and dimension. The classic square shape adds dynamic shadows to any space and allows creative flair to take shape in a truly unique way. Curved or straight, it creates interest, draws the eye and has a standout impact. Hemlock timber offers a naturally pale, attractive look and flexible applications. And of course, natural timber is a high performer when it comes to acoustic absorption – perfect for busy, vibrant, high-traffic spaces.
Testimonial from Owner:
"We are very happy with Austratus, a recommendation from our builder. It was easy to install and easy to adjust – and it adds an excellent look to the overall design of the restaurant."
