About Western Red Cedar
One of the most unique softwood species, Western Red Cedar is often considered to be the ultimate sustainable building product. Compared with alternatives, it produces fewer greenhouse gases, generates less water and air pollution, requires less energy to produce and comes from a renewable and sustainable resource.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™)
PEFC™ is the world’s largest forest certification system. PEFC™ works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice and ensure products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards. A PEFC™ rating helps consumers to identify products as being from sustainably managed forests.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) Chain of Custody
FSC® Chain of Custody is an information trail about the path taken by products from the forest to the consumer. FSC® certification provides a credible guarantee to customers that products originate from well managed forests, controlled sources, reclaimed materials, or a mixture of these.
